The ultimate goal of A Course in Miracles is for us to experience atonement. Atonement is not atoning for our sins. It is to experience ‘at one ment’ with our Creator and with our brothers and sisters on this planet Earth. It is to understand that following the path of Oneness leads to happiness and joy and following the path of separation leads to pain and chaos. Is this so difficult to comprehend? Read the newspapers, test the quality of our air, rivers and streams, observe what ‘intensive farming’ is doing to the soil of our planet, count the number of nuclear weapons that we have developed.

Our civilization is facing a crisis. To mention a few examples that support this observation: climate change, proliferation of more nuclear weapons, intensive agriculture, deterioration of democratic institutions, etc. The acceptance of the underlying oneness of all mankind shall reverse these destructive trends and provide a successful life and civilization for all. Based on the work of modern-day physicists, developments in quantum physics such as the unified field and the connection between human consciousness and physics has been explored. There is a significant similarity between what physicists are referring to as the Unified Field and what metaphysicians have been referring to as the Law of One. The unified field is the source of all that has been created and it is back to that field that all returns. Both modern science and metaphysics are arriving at the understanding that we are all One and that we are all interrelated. As Gary Kasparov in  his book, Winter is Coming, and Nancy MacLean in her book, Democracy in Chains, have informed, there is a strong trend moving us away from democratic institutions to a minority rule by the very wealthy in countries as diverse in their philosophies and economies as United States and Russia. Considering the content of these two books plus the continuous coverage from the news media, as we ignore the principles of the Law of One, this planet and our civilization is facing a crisis. The root cause for this disruption is our willful avoidance of the principles of the Law of One and pursuing the path of separation. Has the human race slid so far down the path of separation that we have regressed back into bicameral thinking, or will we be able to make the conscious choice to reprogram our thinking and accept responsibility for our own individual and global evolution before we destroy our planet? Peter Diamandis in his book, Abundance The Future Is Better Than You Think,  has made a strong point that we now have very sophisticated technology that could usher in abundance for all and that our future is better than we think. But without a code of ethics based on the Law of One, these technologies could simply result in the wealthy getting wealthier and many people losing their livelihoods to artificial intelligence and robots. Possibly the University of Metaphysical Sciences and Singularity University should work together as many of the participants at a Global Summit hosted by Singularity University expressed the concern for an ethical foundation to ensure that these new technologies are used for the good of all. Furthermore, Neal Donald Walsh’s Source has given us a vision of the lifestyle of Highly Evolved Beings so that we now have a glimpse of what our world could look like if we accept as our First Guiding Principle: We Are All One. And if we accept the Second Guiding Principle: Everything in the One Interrelates. For those who want to experience empowerment and want to accept this line of thinking to re-create their reality, the time has come to take guidance from A Course in Miracles seriously – “choose again,” choose Oneness, choose Unity and call on the Force for individual direction and inner strength.
