Section 4. What are the Characteristics of Gods Teachers (Our Core Values)?

a) Trust: “And who would place his faith in the shabby offerings of the ego when the gifts of God (the Light of God, the Love of God, the Peace of God, the Joy of God, the Wisdom of God) are laid before him? “(ACIM, M-4.I.2:3) This implies no longer trusting in the idols of the world.

b) Honesty: Consistency! Consistency with regard to:

    1. Right Intention
    2. Right Thought
    3. Right Word
    4. Right Deed
    5. Right Livelihood
    6. Right Concentration
    7. Right Effort
    8. Right Mindfulness

             (Budda’s Eightfold Path)

Right: Observe what is, do what works.

c) Tolerance: We do not perceive sin, we perceive error. It is not the Teacher of God’s function to go around correcting others’ errors but to be an example of the ‘Better Way’ so others can learn from his/her example. And offer forgiveness, as taught by the Course, at every opportunity.

d) Gentleness: To be kind, gentle, and compassionate.

e) Joy: Joy is the feedback mechanism that informs us that we are on the correct path.

f) Defenselessness: Being defensive is the precursor to revenge, attack, and anger – Let It Be

g) Generosity: To have all give all.

h) Patience: We are not waiting on time to experience At One Ment but on our willingness to let go of the old thought system.

i) Faithfulness: Faith is not based on blind belief but on the experience gained by referring all our trials and tribulations to the Holy Spirit.

j) Open Mindedness: Open your mind to the Grace of God to receive understanding, appreciation, and love.
